What are Assignment Types?
Assignment types are different labels you can tag assignments to. Examples of assignment types are 'Homework', 'Test', 'Project', 'Attendance', etc. You can create and edit assignment types in your Course Settings page.
How do I add new Assignment Types?
You can create, edit, or remove assignment types in your Course Settings page. You can also create them in the assignment type drop down box in the Add an Assignment form of your course page. Similarly, when editing an assignment in an Assignment Page, you have the option to add an assignment type in the drop down there as well.
What are Assignment Type Weights and how do I set them?
When you create and assignment type you have the options to select a color for it as well as the weight for that type. The weight is the overall weight applied to all assignments of that type.
For example: if you create an assignment type 'Homework' and set the weight to be 40% of the overall grade, GradeMate will apply that weight evenly across all assignments of type 'Homework' automatically for you.
How can I change the Assignment Type Color?
To change the color associated with an assignment type, navigate to the Course Settings page. There you will find the section to manage your assignment types. Next to the type name is a color box indicating which color is set for that type. You can change it by clicking the color box - a drop down will appear and you can select a new color by clicking any color in the drop down.
Make sure you save any changes before leaving the page.
