What is the Manage Courses page and how do I access it?

To manage your courses click the Courses button at the top of the page. You will then be presented with a listing of your courses, both active and closed, and several controls for each course, such as Edit, View, Grades, Remove, etc.

What are closed courses and what do 'Restore', 'Remove', and 'Delete' do?

Closed courses are courses you've removed from your active course list. To remove a course click the 'Remove' button near the course name. Closed courses do not show up in your course list in the Sidebar and assignments and other information is not displayed throughout GradeMate (in your RSS feed, for example).

To restore a closed course, click the 'Restore' button next to the name. Finally, to delete a course click the 'Delete' button. You should know that deleting a course removes ALL data tied to it: notes, links, files, assignments, grades, settings, etc. If the course is public it will also remove all data students have saved to the course as well.

What do I do if I accidentally delete a course?

We require this two step process in deleting courses to prevent against accidentally removing one. By making you remove the course, then delete we hope to avoid any potential problems. If you do however delete a course, let us know. We make regular backups of the data you have saved at GradeMate so we may be able to restore your course this way.
