RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication.' From Wikipedia: RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.

GradeMate publishes an RSS feed of your upcoming assignments. This is available via the orange feed icon on your Dashboard in the Upcoming Assignments section. The feed contains a regularly updated list of your upcoming assignments and when they're due.

There are many different services, tools, and programs available for viewing and managing RSS feeds. Some ways you might benefit from your upcoming assignments feed is to include it in your browser's bookmarks toolbar, your email program, or a feed aggregator that you use. Once you include it there, you can have access to all of your upcoming assignments and their due dates from anywhere without having to log in to GradeMate to view them.

The nature of RSS feeds is similar to other published web content in that it available to anyone. That's why you do not need a to log in to view your upcoming assignments feed. Therefore, it is available to you as well as anyone else who has your feed URL.

To turn your feed off and prevent anyone (including you) from having access to it, simply navigate to your Settings page and go to the Upcoming Assignments settings. There you will find a checkbox to show or hide your upcoming assignments feed.
